I despise 90s slashers for the most part. Sure, a few of them are great but for the most part they are shitty. I can’t stand how self-aware they are and they lack so many qualities that the greatest 80s slashers have. The slashers from the 80s have, and always will be, my favorite slashers. That is why I love this sudden burst of 80s inspired slashers.
A few weeks ago I was given the chance to review the 80s slasher throwback Scream Park (read my review here). The film was solid and could easily fill the spot in a double feature with any great 80s slasher.

The Fright Land amusement park is on the verge of closing its doors forever. But the park’s owner, Hyde (Hellraiser’s Doug Bradley), has one last plan to sell more tickets… Murder. Hiring two backwoods maniacs to break into the park and hack and slash all his employees, Hyde thinks these killings will create a media sensation, but he has just unleashed a horror that no one can survive.
