Real Life Weirdness: PETA turning JEFFREY DAHMER house into a VEGAN RESTAURANT. WHAT?

Uh, what?

DahmerThe childhood home of notorious serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer is on the market, and PETA is looking to purchase the house for just under $300,000. Not only that, but the animal rights organization have some culinary ideas for the residence; and plan to convert the house into a vegan restaurant.

Jeffrey Dahmer moved to the house – located in Bath Township, Ohio – when he was only eight years old. The beautiful wooden home, which also contains a 1.5 acre stretch of property, is the location of Jeffrey’s first murder and mutilation in 1978 when he was just 18-years-old. The victim was later identified as Steven M. Hicks.

Ingrid Newkirk, PETA’s current president, contacted a real estate agent late last week in hopes of beginning negotiations on purchasing the house. The house has been on the market for a couple years, but recently the price value dropped from $329,000 to $295,000. But could the 2,170 square foot, midcentury modern home be the next hot spot for vegan cuisine?

If Newkirk has her way, it’s a definite possibility. If the house is to be purchased, PETA would work to convert the house into a restaurant called Eat For Life: Home Cooking, which would offer meals for $10 or less. PETA has even gone as far as releasing a statement relating the atrocities Dahmer committed to the plight of livestock and animals kept in slaughterhouses. While I can see their point to some extent, I think business will thrive solely based on the building’s brutal history more than the positive message it hopes to deliver.

Jeffrey Dahmer was convicted of kidnapping, raping, murdering, and dismembering 17 young men from 1978 to 1991. He was beaten to death by a fellow inmate in 1994.
