American Horror story Freak Show poster 4Did you tune in for the premiere of American Horror Story: Freak Show last night?

If you did, then you were one of over six million people to tune in for debut episode of season four. The episode, titled “Monsters Among Us,” was watched by exactly 6,130,000 people! It also scored a 3.1 Nielson Rating, making it the highest rated show of the night on cable!

This is a personal best for the FX series created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Not only was it the highest rated and most viewed episode to date, but it was also up 590,000 viewers from last season’s premiere. I’ve compiled the premiere and finale numbers from each season below.

Murder House Premiere: 3,180,000
Murder House Finale: 3,220,000
Asylum Premiere: 3,850,000
Asylum Finale: 2,290,000
Coven Premiere: 5,540,000
Coven Finale: 4,240,000

American Horror Story: Freak Show is “set in Jupiter, Florida in 1952 and centers around one of the few remaining freak shows at the time, as its members do anything to keep the business alive. The season focuses on the conflict between the freaks and the “evil forces” who do not understand them.” This season features cast members Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Frances Conroy, Finn Wittrock, Kathy Bates, Jessica Lange, John Lynch, Skyler Samuels, Jyoti Amge, Erika Ervin, Rose Siggins, Grace Gummer, and many more familiar faces and special guests.
