YouTube Star Trisha Paytas Releasing Horror Short on 10/17!

trisha1I will always remember Trisha Paytas as the infectious underdog on season two of Stan Lee’s “Who Wants to Be a Superhero?” which aired on SyFy 2007. The show was a competitive reality show focusing on original superheroes competing for the grand prize which included having a comic book based on their character written and created by Stan Lee, a part in a SyFy original movie, and participation in Universal Studios Florida’s Parade of Superheroes. Trisha competed under the guise of Ms. Limelight, who was unfortunately eliminated in the show’s third episode.

After her first brush with reality television fame, Ms. Paytas went on to have a very long history – which she is still doing, mind you – of appearances on talk shows, clip shows, and reality shows. These appearances include being a correspondent on “The Greg Behrendt Show,” “The Price is Right,” “My Strange Addiction,” “The Millionaire Matchmaker,” “America’s Got Talent,” “Good Morning, America!” and “Ridiculousness.” She has also had sporadic acting roles on “Character Factory,” Sleepless in Silverlake, “Modern Family,” Beverly Hills Cop, and Lola’s Love Shack.

In 2007 Trisha launched her first YouTube Channel, Blndsundoll4mj, which has amassed a whopping 1,096,000 subscribers and over 242,800,000 video views. She launched a second channel, TrishasLife, in June 2014, which has amassed 236,000 subscribers and over 10,300,000 video views. The channels are often filled with fashion tips, beauty tips, self help suggestions, “day in the life” segments, her opinions on life, and a lot of silly gags.

At this point, I’m sure you’re wondering what all this has to do with horror film, since this is a horror film website…

Well, it’s been common knowledge that Trisha’s biggest celebrity crush is Quentin Tarantino, the director most famous for creating Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, From Dusk Till Dawn, Kill Bill 1, Kill Bill 2, Death Proof, Inglorious Basterds, and Django Unchained. Through watching her channel, it becomes apparent that Trisha has a genuine love for horror films. She has done several horror related skits, talks about them – both alone and with other YouTubers, and Tweets about them on a regular basis. So, of course, it’s time to put her love of horror, her knack for making videos, and her time on various sets to good use.

Trisha has a currently untitled horror film that is due for release on October 17, 2014. She’s been tweeting about it often with the hasthag #trishhorrorfilm. Right now this is basically the only thing her fans know about the short film, except for the fact that she’s starring in it. Based on the pictures showed on her Twitter page, it looks like she may be abducted to a creepy location and forced to play a cat and mouse game by a psychotic stalker. I can only wonder if it’s going to be a serious horror flick or comedy.

Stay tuned. I’ll be sure to review this and let you guys know what I thought!

And if you’re feeling in the horror film and Halloween spirit, make sure you grab her new book, Trisha’s 31 Nights of Fright, on Amazon and Kindle. In the book, Trisha shares 31 of her most favorite horror films and rates them into several categories. It’s a fun, different opinion on horror films just in time for Halloween.
