I hope people get the chance to really get to know the girls more on a personal level in the movie and end up rooting us on!!”-Christy Faulkner

Writer and director Ryan Stacy (Concept Media’s “Midsummer Nightmares” franchise) has officially announced his next project: a feature length version of Stacy’s 2013 short film, “Ladies Night,” featured on the anthology DVD “Watch This.” The film, “Ladies Night: The Movie” will see a release in early 2016 from Stacy’s new indie film house, Ragnarok Pictures. Brandon Prewitt, writer & director of Studio 605’s “The Woods Within,” is set to co-write the script. Kelci C. Magel, an actress and longtime collaborator with Stacy, will be assuming a major role on the film as a producer. Attached to this film are the lead actresses from the original short, Mandy Lou (“Midsummer Nightmares,” “Halloween: The Babysitter Murders”) and Christy Faulkner (“Midsummer Nightmares II: Summer’s End”, “Scarewaves”) as Frankie and Camille respectively. Comedian and newcomer Erica Russell is set to take the reigns as Elaine when these three murderous maidens set out for another evening madness and mayhem.

When this release went to press, the following statements were issued:

I am truly honored to collaborate with Ryan and see where we can take these three divas. I am confident that the two of us will be able to deliver a very unique slasher film.”

It’s incredible to be able to create a horror film specifically for my female fans! Empowered and strong women are more prevalent than ever in films today and I am so pleased that I can give characters like these three to you all again!”
-Ryan Stacy

The film is still in the scripting stages and plans for a late winter/early spring 2016 release are in place. No other cast or crew is attached at this time. The specific plot of the film is not known at this time, but it will be centered around three best friends who seek out groups of unsuspecting (and dimwitted) men to exploit and dispose of. The original short film saw an award for Best Short Film of 2013 (Horror Society Awards) and was very well received at screenings and on DVD. “Ladies Night: The Movie” is expected to commence shooting in late summer and locations in and around the Dayton and Cincinnati areas are being eyed.

It’s got that classic slasher movie appeal, but also this very smart and funny “Mean Girls”-type theme going on. As a comedian, I love that.” Erica Russell (Photo Credits: LiVon Photography & Design/Lisa Gypsy VonLuehrte)
