Casting is almost complete on the new film from Mass Grave Pictures, In the Shadow of the Imp! The company has been working hard in pre-production, getting everything together to begin the first week of principal photography during Christmas! The first shoot is going to be a multi-day production, with many of the principle characters on set.

Principle cast thus far includes a few MGP alumni, including Kathryn Lill (M is for Mastectomy) and Deana Demko (“Attack of the Brain People”), as well as Mike Roche and Patrick Devaney who were both in Blood Slaughter Massacre and “The Attack of the Brain People.” There will be one (possibly two) huge cast announcements to make very soon!

The film is being written and directed by Manny Serrano, and produced by Lindsay Serrano, who is also working closely with the FX team. The FX and props for the film are being handled by MGP and “Zombie Hunters: City of the Dead” regulars Cat Martin and Michael Scardillo. Cat and Lindsay will be creating and designing the make-up and creature FX for the film. After their collective work on M is for Mastectomy, you can be sure whatever they come up with, will be breathtaking.

Michael Scardillo (ScarsFX) will be working on numerous props, as well as a custom ritual knife which will be a central plot device. Scardillo has a history of creating some incredible weapons in the past, having hand-made many of the guns used on “Zombie Hunters”, as well as customizing the prop knives for The Ripper in Blood Slaughter Massacre.

The film will also feature a mask made by Regine Gamlem of Black Crane Creations in Norway. Regine has been wonderful in getting the mask ready for the film. You can find her work for sale on her Etsy shop at www.etsy.com/shop/BlackCraneCreations and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/blackcranecreations . The mask being using will be revealed soon, so look forward to that update as well!

The opening scene of the film, featuring Mike Roche, has been shot, and so far it looks great! Here’s a few stills from the shoot:
