Women in Horror: Kelly Wagner

Films. Remakes. Straight-to-DVD titles. Television shows. If you want to be cast in a noteworthy horror project, then you need to make sure your headshot and resume passes through Kelly Wagner. The sometimes actress, sometimes producer has served as casting director on some of the most well known horror titles of the last decade. Although her career with casting started in the late 1990s, she didn’t work predominantly in our favorite genre until 2004 with The Grudge.

Since then, Kelly Wagner has served as casting director – or casting associate – on the following horror titles:

Hostel (2005), The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005), anthology series “Masters of Horror” (2005-2006), Open Water 2: Adrift (2006), The Grudge 2 (2006), The Messengers (2007), Hostel 2 (2007), Wrong Turn 2: Dead End (2007), House of Fears (2007), One Missed Call (2008), The Eye (2008), Insanitarium (2008), The Midnight Meat Train (2008), The Burrowers (2008), The Alphabet Killer (2008), Vacancy 2: First Cut (208), 30 Days of Night: Dark Days (2010), Quarantine 2: Terminal (2011), Shark Night 3D (2011), Creature (2011), MTV series “Death Valley” (2011), Hostel 3 (2011), The Devil Inside (2012), The Green Inferno (2013), and 7500 (2014).

Outside of horror, Kelly has casted for improve show “Nick Cannon Presents: Wild ‘N Out” (2005), comedy Not Another High School Show (2007), action-thriller Crank: High Voltage (2009), and romance-drama Stay Cool (2009).
