Short Film: Island of the Blind Dead

This one was sent to me via Twitter last night. It’s called Island of the Blind Dead and it’s a fan film created to  celebrate the 1971 Spanish cult classic, Tombs of the Blind Dead and the franchise it spawned. With this celebration in mind, this short film is dedicated to Amando de Ossorio, most known for the films he directed such as Fangs of the Living Dead, Return of the Evil Dead, Horror of the Zombies, and Night of the Seagulls.

Island of the Blind Dead is written and directed by Emma Dark and Merlyn Roberts. It was filmed in Corfu, Greece and stars the film’s creators, Elias Loumakis, Sharon Loumakis, Athena Loumakis, Victor Kavadias, and George Catavatis. If you’re a fan of any of the above mentioned movies, then you’re definitely going to want to check this one out. It’s just over three minutes long and has a great old-school, grindhouse feel to it.
