Heavy Psych Sounds Records announces U.S. distribution for new Killer Boogie album titled, Detroit (original street date via online sales was January 14th, 2015 world wide). U.S. distributors include Cobraside, Goodfellas and Super D(Alliance). The album is available in two color variations including limited edition white/multi-color splatter or transparent orange; also as digipack CD and digital download. The record cover was rendered by Juliette Oken of San Francisco-based Starcade Designs.

Detroit, was recorded in Rome, Italy last May at Heavy Psych Sounds Studio by label founder and band member Gabriele Fiori (Black Rainbows, The Wisdoom, Ape Skull). Fiori explains “the album sounds authentic – like it was recorded in a garage — but of course that’s because we love the dirty sound and gritty vibe of those old ’70s recordings.” The band cites influences like Radio Moscow, Cream, Blue Cheer, and of course original Detroit rockers like MC5 and The Stooges. “Detroit is raw, it’s honest, it’s vintage” Fiori enthuses, “it’s hi energy rock n roll!”

“Rome’s Killer Boogie have taken on a slightly heavier take on the Kadavar blueprint, especially with the skilled guitar solos and galloping drums,” Penny Black Music UK explains, “I cannot recommend this enough so if you are thinking of dipping your toes in this saturated scene I can’t think of a better place to start.” Harmonic Distortion exclaims “Killer Boogie’s blues-rock roots are souped up like a custom muscle car.” The Obelisk sums it up “The sound is raw and natural…Killer Boogie know what they’re doing, and they chose their name well.”

Killer Boogie is Gabriele Fiori from Black Rainbows on guitar and vocals; Luigi Costanzo from The Wisdoom on drums; Edoardo Mancini on bass for the studio recordings and since late 2014 includes Matteo Marni for the live line-up. The nine tracks on Detroit are 1. “Bad Rebel, 2. “Ridin’ The Wind,” 3. “My Queen,” 4. “Little Flower,” 5. Silver Universe,” 6. “Cosmic Eye,” 7. “Summertime,” 8. “The Golden Age” and 9. “Dynamite.” Visit the band online at facebook.com/killerboogie or on Twitter at killerboogie666.
