Naomi Grossman, Zach Galligan, Roddy Piper, and Bill Oberst Jr. to star in “The Chair.”

10926203_363014947216996_7589743294016149346_nWow, can you believe that cast list? Seriously. Ok, Chad Ferrin, all eyes are on you!

Today I received word that a new horror-thriller titled The Chair had wrapped principle photography last week and the film was entering into post-production. As someone who is so embedded in the horror scene, I’d heard of The Chair before, but this was the first time I’ve really taken an in depth look at the project. Not only does it sound like it’s going to be brutal and gory, but it sounds like there will definitely be an equal amount of suspense and anxiety inducing moments.

The Chair is directed by Chad Ferrin, whose previous credits include The Ghouls (2003) and Someone’s Knocking at the Door (2009), based on the screenplay by Erin Kohut and Peter Simeti. Erin and Peter are up-and-coming writers, and boy is this a great introduction to the community! Cast members appearing in The Chair include “American Horror Story” breakout star Naomi Grossman, Gremlins and Hatchet 3 star Zach Galligan, legendary WWE wrestler Roddy Piper, and one of the reigning kings of scream Bill Oberst Jr.. They’ll be supported in this effort by Noah Hathaway, Timothy Muskatell, Derrik Damions, Kyle Hester, Susan Eisenberg, Ezra Buzzington, Joseph Pilato, and Christian Hutcherson.

The film will follow, “an innocent man on death row who witnesses savage killings at the hands of the prison’s sadistic Warden. To survive, he must match the brutality in the prison and confront his own horrifying past.”

It goes without saying that The Chair is going to be a movie we all want to watch. As new stills, trailers, and other promotional media are released, I’ll be sure to post them here at HorrorSociety. In the meantime, make sure you follow the film on Facebook to see the updates as they happen: https://www.facebook.com/thechairhorror.
