The Scarehouse was one of my favorite horror releases of last year. I loved the female driven violence and the setting of the movie, which was mostly situated in a pretty awesome looking funhouse. So, imagine how excited I was when writer/director Gavin Michael Booth unveiled a “making of” montage on YouTube that featured tons of behind-the-scenes mini clips. Several things struck me about the video. First, the video shows the creation of some of the corridors used in the funhouse. Secondly, the video shows how the special effects department did some of the blood and prop effects. Lastly, it shows how much fun everyone had making The Scarehouse, and it was fun to see how silly things looked from a standby perspective, which then turned out so smoothly on screen.

It’s definitely a worthwhile montage video and you can find it at the bottom of this post!

Starring Helix‘s Sarah Booth, Kimberly-Sue Murray, Katherine Barrell, Jennifer Miller, Teagan Vincze, Emily Alatalo, Dani Barker, Ivana Stojanovic, Brad Everett, Jack Ettlinger, and Alex Harrouch, The Scarehouse takes place , “two years after a tragic accident when six college girls are invited to a party inside an elaborate Halloween funhouse. Once inside the girls realize their hosts’ intentions are not all fun and games and that, indeed, revenge is a bitch.”

The film is currently available on VOD and DVD in Canada, and on VOD in America with a DVD premiere heading our way sometime in the near future. A soundtrack for the film, featuring the backing track in the montage video, is available on iTunes for only $10.00!
