Deadly Beauty: Horror’s Scream Queens and Rising Talent: Sheri Davis

SheriDavisIndypicedited2.15“Sheri Davis (American actress/producer/casting director/stunt performer/assistant director) was born and raised in a small town in North Texas on Lake Texoma. She was actively involved in sports and extremely competitive and thrill-seeking. Sheri also was an honor roll student. Her college education was in nursing and psychology, and she had a great love for courses in microbiology, religion, and theology.

Sheri has 3 younger brothers and 2 daughters. She was raised by both of her parents who divorced when she was 5. Her previous background ranges from an association with the oil field industry, hospital nurse, medical device sales and education, and pharmaceutical sales and education. With an extensive background in management and building award-winning teams, it is no wonder that her organization skills and professionalism were quickly recognized by others in the entertainment industry and she started working on both sides of the camera. Also, being raised in a small town near a lake and being close to her father and other male relatives, she was very much a “Tom-boy,” which has proved to be quite helpful in her ability to perform various stunts. She grew up in a world of motorcycles, old classic fast cars, water skiing, boating, hunting, and fishing. Sheri is a true Southern Belle in every sense of the term.”*

1. How did you get into the industry?

I dabbled in modeling years ago…swimwear and fitnesswear mainly, which kind of introduced me to the industry. Yet, it wasn’t until my daughter started acting and modeling that I realized how much I really enjoyed everything about making films, tv shows, and commercials come to life. I attended a ton of acting classes with my daughter with some of the top acting coaches in the country. I was also in a serious relationship for several years during that time with an actor/model, and it was his encouragement that really made me pursue this dream. I was booking more filmwork than he had booked in all the years he had been in the industry in my first year as an actor. His thing was printwork, runway, and commercials, but my love was film and TV. To this day he remains a friend and still sends me messages occasionally telling me he is proud of how far I have come and to “keep it up”.

2. What “Scream Queen” inspired you the most?

I have to say this one was a tough one for me…not because there were so many choices, but because horror films scared the crap out of me! Adrienne Barbeau and Heather Langenkamp are pretty much on top of my list, but Deborah Foreman, Amy Steel, and even Melissa Sue Anderson definitely all left their marks on me for various reasons as well. Yet, Dee Wallace probably wins hands down as the “Scream Queen who inspired the most”. I was absolutely beside myself to finally meet her in person at Days of the Dead Culture Shock last month. She has such great energy! Dee seems like such a genuine person. She has had such an incredible career, and I am looking forward to seeing more of what her daughter, Gabrielle Stone, will be doing as well. I was totally geeked out when I met Dee and asked her for a photo and autograph! It was very surreal for me!

3. What are the next couple of projects that you will be working on?

My next 3 films in the horror genre are “Left Hand Lords”, “Scream Queen Campfire”, and “The Last Revenants”.

My next feature film will be filming in summer 2015 and is called “Left Hand Lords”. I will be teaming up with writer/director Spencer Gray again whom I worked with on “Snake With A Human Tail” and he also just happened to co-wrote “Left Hand Lords” along with Cheryl Clements. This film is going to cause quite a stir again, as our film, “”Snake With A Human Tail” did, because we are once again going to have religion involved in this film. I play the role of Abigail who is a very disturbed character; you won’t quite know if she is good or bad. Our cast is absolutely incredible…some of the best and most well-known horror film actors of today! I am honored to be a part of this cast.

Next up will be “Scream Queen Campfire” which has a team of writers and producers, one of which is the awesome Jonathan Moody. I am glad to say that Jonathan finally snagged me for one of his projects and I couldn’t be happier! This project has various stories. I play Alana in the segment titled, “Witch’s Curse”.

“The Last Revenants” is a feature film about 4 lone female survivors of the species after a great plague has eradicated all vampires from the planet. Each character is very well-developed and has a unique back story which will be played out in flashback sequences to really lure in the audience to empathize for these characters. This was written by Scott C. Sanford and will be directed by the great Jim Wynorski. The cast once again is amazing!!!!

Please check out all of these projects on IMDb so you can see who all of the amazing cast and learn more about all of these!

Thanks so much for all of your support for indie filmmakers!!! XOXO!!!
