She’s been working tirelessly in the horror scene for over ten years. With over 25 credits to her name, the only question I have to ask is: what took you so long? Due for release before the end of the year, Ms. Dupree and Darkstone Entertainment are due to release Monique’s directorial debut, a short film titled Shadowhunters: Devilspeak. Devilspeak is another entry in the franchise started by Johnny Johnson with previous installments including Shadowhunters (2004) and Shadowhunters: Lost (2011).
And now you can get a glimpse at the atmosphere of Devilspeak with the recently released one-sheet pictured to the left. If you ask me, it has a lot of classic elements, a real Brooklyn mobster kind of vibe with mild touches of horror in all the right places. It should be an interesting movie, one that is sure to please all the old and new fans of The First Black Scream Queen.
Monique Dupree will also star in Shadowhunters: Devilspeak alongside Matthew Ewald (“Galidor”), Angela Pritchett (Porkchop II), Anthony Saint Thomas, Mariah Smith, Johnny Johnson and wrestling legend Tommy Dreamer. Dreamer is a former WWE Hardcore Champion, currently signed to the TNA roster while running his own promotion, House of Hardcore, where Dupree works as a manager and valet.
Remember to keep an eye out for further Devilspeak news as it is expected to hit film festivals and horror conventions within the next few months.
