Roger Conners’ Night of the Living Dead: Rebirth Is Classic and Gory as Hell
Marathon Filming Results in Unbelievable Footage, Previewed Below

Ohio, June 7 – In the last five years there has been several remakes of George A. Romero’s classic zombie flick, Night of the Living Dead. However, there are none quite like Roger Conners’ Night of the Living Dead: Rebirth. Instead of trying to out-due the original 1968 megahit, Conners’ has kept it classic and nostalgic while only revamping the social commentary on topics plaguing American society, and coupling it with the plague of the walking dead. With this innovative concept and screenplay due to serve as a commendable conversation piece, Night of the Living Dead: Rebirth is a look at how the zombie apocalypse and modern perceptions would effect a small group of people in past. All of the original characters are featured – Ben, Johnny, Judy, Harold Cooper, Helen Cooper – but it’s guaranteed that you’ve never seen them like this before!

…And that doesn’t mean Night of the Living Dead: Rebirth is relying only on heavy dialogue and thematic and metaphoric situations to reel in an audience. Recent filming, which took place during Memorial Day Weekend, has yielded gory and jaw dropping results. The special effects crew, consisting of GD Effects, Ron George and Cassaundra Hollaway, had their work cut out for them, but as you can see in the exclusive stills below, they pulled off some formidable movie magic and poor Mrs. Helen Cooper looks to be carried away by some gnarly looking undead attackers! That is why horror fans should be most excited for this upcoming title – for an independent production working towards a product that is truly self actualized and authentic, Night of the Living Dead: Rebirth is going to make you feel like you’re sitting down with an old friend… an old friend that wants to rip you to pieces.

In fact, the entire shoot from Memorial Day Weekend focused around the characters of Reverend Harold Cooper and Helen Cooper, played by actors Alvin Hudson and Rachel Anderson. Several emotionally taxing, though well-acted scenes were put into production and have resulted in one of the best examples of how Night of the Living Dead: Rebirth is taking old concepts and giving them a modern twist. You can find one of the recently released clips below!

Night of the Living Dead: Rebirth is written and directed by Roger Conners with cinematography from Noelle Bye. Cast members include Conners, Hudson, Anderson, Aswan Harris, Brad Arner, Taylor Nelms, Jim Strang, Hailey Moltz, John Chiara, RJ Messenger, Benny Benzino and Dan Peters.
