Home Sweet Home is a dark, unsettling short film that focuses on atmosphere and slow-burning tension. Turning the “home invasion” subgenre on it’s head while weaving in classic slasher undertones, Home Sweet Home has been described as “indie horror at its finest” by Melissa Thomas of Little Blog of Horror.
Shot in the summer of 2013, the film has screened at numerous film festivals across the country including Twisted Tails Film Festival, Horror Realm Independent Film Festival, Panic Fest, Flint Horror Con and the Oshkosh Horror Film Festival. After an impressive grassroots DVD sale this past winter, the filmmakers have chosen the two-year anniversary of principal photography as the day to share Home Sweet Home with the rest of the world.
Synopsis: In the middle of a massive house hunt, a young married couple finds an obscure real estate listing way out in the country. Thinking they may have found their dream home, the couple drives out to the property to take a closer look. Appearing temporarily uninhabited, they see no problem with entering the house for a closer look, unaware of the horror waiting inside.
