This is NOT porn!

From the Indiegogo page:

Yes, the movie contains huge amounts of nudity, and it has a creature that is, shall we say, rather penisy, but it’s high-brow and low-brow at the same time.    The trouser-fish that you see in the video simply begins the movie.  Once freed from the pants, this creature changes.  A shark with an arc.  In true science-fiction style, the story is symbolic, but it is also easy to enjoy without paying attention to the messages.  If your comprehension were  a shark, it would be happy on the surface as well as in the depths.

  • Bill Zebub has made over 70 movies.  They were mostly self-funded.  This is only the third crowdfunding campaign.
  • The reason why this campaign is important is because the movie will probably not be sold in too many shops due to the title.  But no other title will do.  That’s just being honest.  If the movie were called “Mythical Creature” it would still contain a dickshark.  Bill Zebub does not lie to his vendors.
  • “Dickshark” can be made on any budget, but the more money that will be raised will allow for more money to be invested in props.  For example, there will be a 7-foot shark in the movie.  With enough support, this can be made out of silicone ($2,000 minimum).  With less, but good support, it can be a combination of silicone and foam.  The contributions go toward the special effects.  You basically decide whether the story is graphically depicted or merely alluded.  Unlike JAWS, this shark movie is best with the creature(s) making regular appearances in full glory.

Why should anyone care about a movie called “Dickshark?”

When Bill Zebub made a movie called “Antfarm Dickhole” he assumed that he would lose his entire investment.  After all, no store would carry such a movie.  He made the movie because  it would have been a crime against himself not to film something that was made purely as a work of creativity.  He just couldn’t bear to let all of those ideas die.

There was no other intention than to let ideas flow, unedited.  The director was rewarded for his art.  The movie did very well, despite the ban from most stores.  He was so delighted and thankful that he allowed the movie to be offered for free on the Roku box, on a midnight channel.  This rewarded him even more, because many more people were able to enjoy it.  They probably would have never heard about it otherwise.

  • This movie is not a juvenile attempt to show a peepee.  The ever-metamorphosing creature is a symbol, and there are parallels to the Frankenstein story (not the Frankenstein of movies, which was a retarded zombie.  No, the monster in the book was an eloquent, agile, and sensitive being who was tormented by having no ties, or similarity, to any other creature.  Misery made him a fiend.  Friendship would have made him virtuous.
  • There really are NOT that many TRULY absurd movies in the world.  What the masses may consider to be stupid might actually be something on a higher intellectual level.
  • You will be supporting a movie that was written for creative exercise, not for financial success.  There is no target audience.  Hopefully word of mouth will make people think again after initially rejecting it (due to the vulgar name and the images that make people dismissive,  based on previous experiences – this is not a book to be judged by its cover!)

Check out the Indiegogo campaign and contribute.  If you can’t then please share the link so others that can will be able to.  Check it out and remember to support indie horror!
