Listenable Records is very pleased to welcome Brooklyn-based psychedelic rock trio

THE GOLDEN GRASS to the label’s expanding ranks for the release of their sophomore full-length.

The follow-up to the band’s self-titled debut, issued last year on Svart Records, is being tracked by Jeff Berner at Galuminum Foil Productions and is due for a Spring unveiling.
THE GOLDEN GRASS is here to bring with them a classic feel-good heavy boogie vibe, drenched in soulful vocals, psychedelic flourishes, progressive arrangements and deep improvisational interludes. Influenced by the likes of such American rock legends as The James Gang, The Allman Brothers and Grand Funk Rainroad, the soulful British psych/mod of The Move, The Pretty Things and The Action, and the heavy umph of Budgie, Blue Cheer and Blackfoot, THE GOLDEN GRASSsynthesizes their influences into a seamless, memorable, and high-energy performance that screams from the past but is a welcome and much needed presence in the now! Hard rock lives! Keep on grassin’!
The UK’s Classic Rock Magazine gave their debut an 8/10 score calling it, “a boogie-heavy anthem…this is rock at its most classic,” Shindig’s 4/5 review lauded the band’s, “rootsy psychedelia infused Southern country-rock that actually leaves you smiling,” in a 4/5 rating Kerrang hailed the band’s, “sunburst anthems, rainbow brightness and heat-haze psychedelia,” Iron Fist gushed, “THE GOLDEN GRASS stand tall and proud for one damn reason; sincerity,” while The Obelisk elaborated “There have been comparisons to classic rock acts from Hendrix to Creedence Clearwater Revival to Blue Cheer to Led Zeppelin to Blue Öyster Cult, but none of them quite captures the entirety of what THE GOLDEN GRASS are doing…because, as in the best of cases, they’re taking the influence of these landmark acts and creating something of their own from them. And the result is a sound that bridges a gap few these days even dare approach. Get heavy, get happy.”
With two European tours already under their belt, THE GOLDEN GRASS will return to Europe for their third time this May. The journey will include an appearance at the 2016 edition of Freak Valley Festival.
Further THE GOLDEN GRASS info to be announced in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.
