Mass Grave Pictures to Debut “Theta States” Teaser at First Con-Tact Creator Con in Queens, NY
Queens, NY – Feb 20th marks the date of the Second Annual First Con-Tact Creator Con and Film Festival, which will see the premiere of Mass Grave Pictures first teaser for their new feature film, Theta States.
The new film, starring Erin Brown (Masters of Horror: Sick Girl, Seduction of Misty Mundae), Thomas Ryan (Faces, Dead Road), Deana Demko (Ghosts of Angela Webb, Witches Blood) and Loretta Vendetta (Blood Slaughter Massacre, Hunters), is about insomniac Danny (Ryan) who is prescribed an experimental treatment in the form of a Binaural Audio device, by the enigmatic sleep therapist Dr. Zovnig (Thomas Coll). The device lulls Danny into sleep, causing him to sleep better than he has in years, but he soon realizes there’s something strange happening, as he suffers from constant nightmares and blackouts. The film will feature music from Philly’s own S&M Punk band GASH, and by NYC musician Without You, I’m Hunting Them.
The teaser for Theta States (originally titled In The Shadow of the Imp) will screen at 1:40pm, this Saturday, Feb 20th. Writer/director Manny Serrano, along with the Mass Grave Pictures crew (Lindsay Serrano, Louie Cortes) will be on-hand at the convention to introduce the new trailer, along with many other films and trailers for the day. They will also be vending for the day, along with many other artists and filmmakers, and will have copies of their films Blood Slaughter Massacre, The Attack of the Brain People, M is for Mastectomy, and other goodies available.
With the First Con-Tact Creator Convention and Film Festival, the goals are simple: bring together artists, writers, self-publisher, and vendors, in an environment where they can sell their wares, make connections, exchange ideas, and hang-out with like-minded people. The Creator Convention from Enigma Events, is run by Claire and Hugh Brammer, and grew from their beginnings in their (unfortunately now closed) bookstore in Queens, where they regularly hosted artist gatherings and workshops for NYC’s local talent.
First Con-Tact Creator Con doors open at 11am, and the films start at noon. The schedule for the Film Festival (hosted by Mark Boutros) is as follows;
