amitynoAn update to yesterday’s frustrating news.

As reported earlier, Amityville: The Awakening will not see theaters on April 1, 2016 as it was originally scheduled. Despite being anxiously awaited by the horror community, Deadline is reporting that the decision was made to pull the film and shelve it until a different date, its forth in a series of set backs. According to the site, The Weinstein Bros. and Jason Blum decided to delay the film’s release until January 6, 2017 in hopes of cashing Amityville: The Awakening in as the first big horror film of 2017. They also noted that the first horror films of each year are sometimes more successful than others.
