Canadian prog outfit HEAVEN’S CRY have completed their fourth album, “Outcast.” Self-recorded along with the assistance of Yannick St-Amand (Despised Icon, Beneath The Massacre), “Outcast” continues where their acclaimed 2012 effort “Wheels of Impermanence” left off, pushing the band to the forefront of today’s modern progressive metal scene.
“The new record is done,” reports guitarist Eric Jarrin. “We just got the final master a few days ago and it sounds great! The whole concept of this album revolves around the theme of the human race, which throughout history had to succeed in transforming and reinventing itself in order to survive every evolutionary step.”
Scheduled for worldwide release on June 3 via Prosthetic Records, “Outcast” will showcased live during three record-release shows in Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec. Additional support will be provided by Korealis and Hillward. Dates are as follows:
6/3 Ottawa, ON – Mavericks
6/4 Montreal, QC – Piranha Bar
6/5 Quebec City, QC – L’Anti

Founded by Pierre St-Jean (vocals, guitars) and Sylvan Auclair (vocals, bass), HEAVEN’S CRY recorded their debut album “Food For Thought Substitute” in 1996. In Japan, the album was awarded the #13 spot for “Metal Albums of 1996” in Burrn! Magazine. Subsequently, the band’s buzz spread throughout Europe and earned the band several “album of the month” features in many acclaimed magazines
Jarrin and René Lacharité (drums) joined the band prior to the release of their second record, “Primal Power Addiction,” in 2002. The critically acclaimed release was well received and earned the band a spot on the prestigious ProgPower Festival in the Netherlands, as well as a European tour supporting Threshold. The group supported the album’s North American release by performing alongside the likes of Anvil, Planet X, Arena and Nightwish.
After a seven-year hiatus, during which Jarrin toured the world as a member of Despised Icon, HEAVEN’S CRYreleased their third album, “Wheels Of Impermanence.” The band supported the release by headlining ProgPower Europe, performing at ProgPower USA and touring alongside Pain of Salvation.
