Fans of the independent, grindhouse splatter chick Chainsaw Sally can rejoice as it appears that April Monique Burril is revving her chainsaw once again as the cult vixen horror fans adore. Originally, the franchise and its beloved character was going to move forward as an animated series, but it seems that idea has been canned – or at least postponed – while The Life and Crimes of Chainsaw Sally gets all the focus.

Currently in pre-production in the Maryland area, The Life and Crimes of Chainsaw Sally is the first time April Monique Burril has returned to the role that made her a star since Little Big Boy in 2012. However, it’s not out of the ordinary to believe she wanted to retire the role for a little while when considering Chainsaw Sally has been a horror staple since 2004.

Of course co-creator Jimmyo Burril is on board to develop this project and, according to the promo piece above, Nicolette le Faye will return to her role as Miss Busy Bee in the feature film.

More on this to come as Chainsaw Sally cuts her way back into 2017.
