Sources are reporting that actor Jerry Doyle has passed away. He was found unresponsive in his home in Las Vegas on Wednesday and passed away with the cause of death still being undetermined. His family has confirmed this sad news. He was only 60-years-old.
Jerry Doyle is most known for playing the role of Michael Garibaldi in the Babylon 5 franchise, the late actor having starred in Babylon 5: The Gathering (1993), Babylon 5: The River of Souls (1998), Babylon 5: A Call to Arms (1999) and the television series “Babylon 5” which aired from 1994 to 1998.
His other credits include voicing characters in “Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys” and appearing in The Outsiders (1998) and Storm Watch (2002). Instead, in recent years, Doyle turned his attention to broadcasting and was the host of “The Jerry Doyle Show” on Talk Radio. He also launched a news platform, Epic Times, ran for California’s Congressional District, and wrote a political novel.
Jerry Doyle was such an important figure in the world of science fiction and he was one of the stars that helped breathe life into the SyFy Network. His passing will be felt by many in the genre. All of us here at Horror Society send our thoughts to his family, friends and fans.
