Actress Karin Konoval has been cast as ‘Kitchen Witch’ in the upcoming second season of SyFy’s hit new series, “The Magicians.” Konoval can be seen in the opening scene of episode 2.01, which picks up directly where the season one finale left off. Being that the supernatural characters in the series travel between worlds and revisit other mystical beings so often, it’s very possible that we may see Karin in more than one episode. I know that’s what I’m hoping for as ‘Kitchen Witch’ seems sarcastic and savage.
Karin Konoval has over 120 credits to her name in a career spanning over 30 years. Her credits in our favorite genres consist of small and supporting roles in 2012, Alone in the Dark, Black Christmas (2006), Double Double Toil and Trouble, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, R.L. Stine’s Monsterville Cabinet of Souls, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, Snow White: Fairest of Them All, The Stranger Game and The Tooth Fairy. She’s also enjoyed recurring roles on “The Dead Zone” and “Supernatural” and was recently featured in episodes of “Bates Motel” and “iZombie.”
Based upon Lev Grossman’s best-selling books, “The Magicians” stars Jason Ralph (A Most Violent Year, “Aquarius”) as Quentin Coldwater, a brilliant grad student who enrolls in Brakebills College for Magical Pedagogy, a secret upstate New York university specializing in magic. He and his 20-something friends soon discover that the magical fantasy world they read about as children is all too real— and poses grave danger to humanity. Stella Maeve (“Chicago P.D.”), Hale Appleman (Teeth), Arjun Gupta (“Nurse Jackie”) and Summer Bishil (Lucky 7) also star in this one hour drama.
“The Magicians” returns to SyFy with season two in January 2017.
