The season two premiere of “Scream Queens” is literally a week from today and the executives over at FOX have one more surprise for fans looking forward to the bombing horror-comedy. The news broke tonight that Emmy Award and Golden Globe winner Kirstie Alley has signed on as a series regular in the upcoming season. Kirstie, of course, is most known for her roles in numerous television shows and movies including “Cheers,” It Takes Two, Look Who’s Talking, Star Trek: Wrath of Khan and “Veronica’s Close.”

It’s being reported that Alley will be playing the part of a “brilliant and devious administrator” at the institution where the season will be set against, switching from the popular Kappa Kappa Tau campus we saw last year. The Chanels are residents of the institution, someway or another, and Dean Kathy Munsch is now Director Kathy Munsch as she runs the asylum where the most fascinating and bizarre medical cases are observed. Here’s hoping for a Jamie Lee Curtis vs. Kirstie Alley character feud!

Kirstie Alley will join returning stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts, Lea Michelle, Abigail Breslin, KeKe Palmer, Billie Lourd, Glen Powell and Niecy Nash as well as fellow newcomers John Stamos, Taylor Lautner, James Earl, Colton Haynes, Jerry O’Connell, Laura Bell Bundy and Cecily Strong. Ryan Murphy is trying his best to keep the show on air, apparently.

“Scream Queens” returns September 20th at 9:00PM on FOX! Will you be tuning in?
