“Scream: The TV Series” Renewed For Abbreviated Season 3.

Say what?

It was announced this morning that the Wes Craven spin-off “Scream: The TV Series” has been renewed for a third and final season. Despite season two seeing a 50% slash in ratings and only 350,000 live viewers per episode, streams and DVR’s must have been strong enough for MTV to greenlight more episodes. This announcement comes on the heels of the show’s Halloween special slated to air on October 18 as a two hour mini-movie to wrap up the storylines of season three.

This all seems well and good, but all isn’t perfect in Lakewood. Season three of “Scream: The TV Series” will be a much abbreviated one, consisting of only six episodes; bringing the entire series to just 30 episodes – or 32 if you count the Halloween special on Tuesday. I wonder what minimal storyline they can roll out in such a short amount of time. Also, showrunners Michael Gans and Richard Register will be replaced, which means a new direction is in store for our survivors.

Here’s one last go of the teen drama series that wouldn’t die!
