An artist needs to explore, test unfamiliar waters and find a new source of inspiration. For drummer, vocalist and guitarist Rocky Gray, that means exploring the world of film and cinema while he continues an impressive hit streak in rock music. As the drummer for Evanescence during their heyday from 2003 – 2007, Gray and the band sold over 10,000,000 records fueled by three top ten singles that spawned the #1 album The Open Door and the #3 album Fallen. Since then he’s lent his talents to other popular bands including Future Leaders of the World, Living Sacrifice and We Are the Fallen.

He also launched a solo project of his very own while scoring Iceberg Interactive and Tripwire Interactive’s first person zombie shooter Killing Floor 2. It wasn’t long after that the world of cinema came calling.

Gray started his career in movies by working as a composer on Volumes of Blood: Horror Stories, The Barn and its accompanying video game, and Cryptids – currently in production. The motion picture bug must have bit down hard because Rocky partnered with Red Letter Entertainment and executive producer P.J. Starks to film his directorial debut 10/31/2016. An anthology in the same vein of Creepshow and V/H/S/, 10/31/2016 follows a group of teenagers who receive a video tape from a mysterious trick or treater, a tape that turns their Halloween night into a living nightmare. Damien Harding and Jeremiah Gray join Rocky Gray as writers in an upcoming horror collection that promises to bring you the darkest, twisted tales of the macabre.

The first segment, “The Samhain Slasher,” was teased in September and fans are eagerly awaiting updates while 10/31/2016 completes post-production edits. Their thirst for blood was quenched when a preview was released on Wednesday, November 2 and it looks good! Check it out below!
