Troy Escamilla just started getting his first horror feature out to the public with Party Night, but already the independent film-maker is hard at work on his next project. Christmas themed Stirring was recently put into development and the writer, producer and director is making some major casting announcements. When we see Stirring in 2018, the title produced by Fright Meter Films will feature very familiar faces. Send in the scream queens!
Brinke Stevens, Helene Udy and Kaylee Willams have been announced as the leading ladies of Stirring. Brinke Stevens is, of course, one of the biggest female horror icons of all time due to her roles in The Slumber Party Massacre, Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama and Teenage Exorcist. Helene Udy has an equally impressive resume with roles in The Dead Zone, The Incubus and My Bloody Valentine. Last but not least, Kaylee Williams has appeared in dozens of indie titles like 3 Slices of Life, The Lashman and Porkchop 3D.
What I find most interesting is that one of these lovely ladies could turn out to be the killer, judging from Stirring‘s first poster featured above. The film will also showcase the acting talents of Drew Shotwell, Billy Brannigan and Jace Greenwood, who has a small role in the new Hellraiser movie. Based on the screenplay by Escamilla, Stirring will also feature cinematography by Derek Huey.
Synopsis: Students attending a Christmas party at a sorority house with a sinister past are stalked by a bloodthirsty killer disguised as Mrs. Clause.
