Girl Scout Troop Shoots Short Horror Film with Reel Splatter Productions.

I’m not going to pretend that I know a whole lot about Girl Scout Troops. My knowledge goes as far as they make the most decision cookies in the world and they can complete courses and tasks that further their education and make them into a more well-rounded individual. And in Troop #40210’s case this extends to film-making! To get their digital film-making and writing merit badges, Troop #40210 partnered with award winning Pennsylvania based production company Reel Splatter Productions to write, shoot and edit a short film they’ve titled The Girly Massacre.

While the audio is a little questionable, The Girly Massacre has unexpectedly pleasant acting, good camera work, good special effects and a story that’s just perfect for a young Girl Scout Troop. Major props to Mike Lombardo, the crew at Reel Splatter Productions and the girls of Troop #40210 for making a fun, little short film for us gore hounds. What’s even better is that the girls are exposed to creating digital media while also bringing horror to a new audience and proving that women, especially young women, have a major hand in this industry. Color me inspired!
