This morning People, TvLine and The Palo Alto Police Department have confirmed the death of former Emmy nominee John Heard. John Heard was discovered deceased on Friday, July 21st, at a hotel in Palo Alto, California. He was recently recovering from a minor pack surgery and his cause of death is currently unknown, though police are not listing it as suspicious. He was 72-years-old.
Heard is most known for his roles in Beaches, Big, Home Alone, Home Alone 2 and White Chicks. In recent years, he held recurring roles on popular television shows including “The Sopranos,” “CSI: Miami,” “Jack & Bobby,” “Prison Break: Resurrection,” “Entourage,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” and “The Lizzie Borden Chronicles.”
To horror fans, Heard was most known for playing Oliver Yates in Cat People and starring as George Cooper in C.H.U.D. His other appearances in the horror and scifi genres include Too Scared to Scream (1985), The Seventh Sign (1988), Locusts (2005), Would You Rather (2012), Sharknado (2013) and The Murder Pact (2015).
