NY’s Gas Station Horror Returns August 12th with Special Guest Jon Bershad.

Gas Station Horror is a monthly, high-energy improv show that turns terrible horror movies into excellent comedy. Host J. W. Crump is joined by a talented group of horror-philes from the major comedy theaters in New York. After playing clips from low-rent horror movies, the improvisers take the stage to finish the scene in new and hilarious ways. Every show features movie fun-facts, brand-new clips, and a sponsored raffle where audience members have the chance to win free DVDs and other prizes.

The show RETURNS this Saturday, August 12th at 10:30PM to the Peoples Improv Theater, featuring clips from the last FIVE decades of horror. Television, short films, and features are all on the chopping block as Special Guest Jon Bershad joins the cast for all the nonsense.

Jon was a staff writer for the comedy website Seriously.TV and has also written for The Onion, Above Average, Funny or Die, College Humor, and McSweeney’s. His full-length horror-musical, Zipperface!!?!: The Hobo Musical, had a sold out run at the New York International Fringe Festival. In addition, Jon is a writer, performer, and teacher at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, currently appearing weekly with the house improv team By the Book. He also hosts the comedy podcast The Emoji Movie: The Podcast (which has nothing to do with The Emoji Movie).

Jon also starred in, not one, but TWO horror films, Fear Town, USA and The Slashening 2: The Final Beginning. As part of GSH’s FREE raffle, we’ll be giving away copies of the films, signed by both Jon and the creator.
