Adam Green Reboots Hatchet Franchise With New Movie ‘Victor Crowley.’

Well, this is certainly the best news I’ve heard all year!

Tonight, fans celebrating the 10th anniversary of slasher flick Hatchet were treated to one Hell of a surprise at Hollywood’s ArcLight Cinema. Entertainment Weekly has officially confirmed that spectators were treated to the very first screening of a brand new entry in the Hatchet franchise, titled Victor Crowley. The forth film was miraculously kept under wraps for over two years and premiered tonight, August 22, to a packed house. Victor Crowley will also screen at FrightFest Film Festival in London before hitting select theaters and VOD in October 2017.

Produced under ArieScope Pictures in conjunction with Dark Sky Films, Victor Crowley sees film-maker Adam Green re-take his rightful place as director. Though he’s written every film in the franchise, Green momentarily stepped away from the director’s chair for Hatchet III in 2013. Green has described the forth film, Victor Crowley, as a reboot and Dread Central lists the plot as – “In 2007, forty-nine people were brutally torn to pieces in Louisiana’s Honey Island Swamp. Over the past decade, lone survivor Andrew Yong’s claims that local legend Victor Crowley was responsible for the horrific massacre have been met with great controversy, but when a twist of fate puts him back at the scene of the tragedy, Crowley is mistakenly resurrected and Yong must face the bloodthirsty ghost from his past.”

Icon of Fright Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th 7-X) returns as the title killer alongside lead cast members Parry Shen (Better Luck Tomorrow), Laura Ortiz (The Hills Have Eyes remake), Dave Sheridan (Scary Movie) and Brian Quinn (“Impractical Jokers”).

Keep your eyes glued (or gouged) to for all the latest updates on this exciting release. Hatchet IV aka Victor Crowley is coming to you in less than two months!
