Emma Dark Releases Trailer for Scifi Thriller ‘Salient Minus Ten.’

TRAILER RELEASED FOR EMMA DARK’S CEREBRAL SCI-FI THRILLER ‘SALIENT MINUS TEN’

The highly anticipated trailer for SALIENT MINUS TEN, the new Sci-Fi/Horror short film from award-winning Director Emma Dark, has been released. A cerebral foray into the darker more disturbing side of Science Fiction the film tells the story of Adam Harper, an ordinary man who suddenly finds himself catapulted into a strange, reality changing game, where the stakes are a matter of life and death.

The film’s cast includes ‘Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back’ actor Alan Austen (playing the lead role of Adam Harper), with Writer/Director Emma Dark also taking a role as the antagonist of the story – ‘The Woman’. Chris Hampshire and Beric Read, alumni of Emma’s previous film ‘Seize the Night’ (2015), play supporting roles alongside newcomer Samantha Oci. The film is scored by popular LA based Composer Eric Elick, and was shot by globally renowned DoP Philip Bloom (Red Tails, The Wonder List with Bill Weir). Other crew includes Sound Designer Chris Collier, VFX Artist Davy Simmons, and SFX Makeup Artist Mike Peel (The Descent, Evil Aliens, Shed of the Dead). The film is currently being submitted to festivals around the world.

Emma Dark had this to say about the trailer release: “I’m very excited to reveal a small taste of what viewers can expect to see from SALIENT MINUS TEN. I was keen not to pack the trailer full of spoilers, and instead chose to focus on demonstrating the film’s atmosphere and energy. VFX, SFX and full character reveals are not included in the trailer, and will be a surprise for festival goers. After having a large amount of success with my Vampire vs Werewolves short film ‘Seize the Night’ I was keen to show I’m capable of a broader range of themes and tones. SALIENT MINUS TEN blends Sci-Fi, Thriller and Horror fairly equally, and is complimented by beautiful visuals from DoP Philip Bloom, a strong retro synth score from Composer Eric Elick, and magical Sound Design from Chris Collier. The film offers a surreal and cerebral exploration of one man’s terrifying passage through a moment in time where the real and unreal collide. A story of panic, illusion, and inescapable destiny.”
