Night of the Stripping Dead, at the world famous Admiral Theatre, now in it’s 9th year, is going big. Michael Berryman, arguably the most recognizable horror icon in the world, will grace the Admiral stage as master of ceremonies. Guiding attendees through a night of the most macabre variety performances this side of the beyond.
In addition to Berryman, Mat Fraser, the Sealboy from American Horror Story Freakshow will be performing live on stage. New York City based performance artist Julie Atlas Muz. Calgary based contortionist Visha Loo with her IT inspired latex act is not to be missed. Also burlesque star Raquel Reed. The reigning queens of Gorelesque Red Rum and Maya Sinstress, along with a slew of local performers.
The notorious gentleman’s club began in the 20’s as a vaudeville/variety theatre. During World War II, was transformed into a film and cartoon movie house. During the 70’s as adult films began to shift to the mainstream the Admiral was one of the first theatre’s in Chicago to start showing pornographic material in public. Eventually the theatre was turned into the gentleman’s club it is today. To honor its roots the Admiral transforms itself into a cabaret style show club several times a year. Bringing in the best in variety, fetish and burlesque performers. The annual Halloween show, Night of the Stripping Dead being the most popular.
