Telluride Horror Show Announces Its Killer Second Wave of Programming for 2017

You need to be in Colorado this October to get all the horror

I can’t even begin to tell you how pumped I am for this lineup the Telluride Horror Show has put together for 2017. Just when I thought they couldn’t top themselves, they drop this amazing second wave of films. If you are in the Colorado area, or are looking for the place to see some new top quality horror, you absolutely can’t miss the Telluride Horror Show.

The highly anticipated second wave of films and guests, as well as special events and schedule, has been announced for the 2017 Telluride Horror Show, which will kick off on Friday the 13th of October and run through October 15th in picturesque Telluride, Colorado.

The second wave includes the World Premieres of DERELICTS and NEVER HIKE ALONE (a fan tribute to FRIDAY THE 13TH), as well as the U.S. Premiere of BORLEY RECTORY and Colorado Premieres of TRAGEDY GIRLS, DESOLATION, COLD HELL, and PSYCHOPATHS. Fourteen additional short films have been included.

More guests have been confirmed, including directors Greg McLean (JUNGLE), Patrick Brice (CREEP 2), John Dwyer (CONFESSIONS OF A SERIAL KILLER: DIRECTOR’S CUT), and Tyler MacIntyre of TRAGEDY GIRLS, a horror comedy set in high school that will be the first film to play the Horror Show’s new venue, Palm Theatre (located at Telluride’s high school). All filmmakers will participate in Q&As following their respective films.

Jeremy Robert Johnson will also join the Horror Show as its Guest Author for a book signing and bonfire reading at the Horror Show’s second annual Creepy Campfire Tales. Johnson is the author of the critically-acclaimed collection Entropy in Bloom as well as the breakthrough cult novel Skullcrack City. His fiction has been praised by The Washington Post and Publishers Weekly, authors such as David Wong, Chuck Palahniuk and Jack Ketchum, and has appeared internationally in numerous anthologies and magazines.

In addition to the book signing and Creepy Campfire Tales, other special events include the Ice Scream Social, Killer Karaoke Party, Pig Roast, Horror Trivia (presented by Dread Central), and Last Call at the Last Dollar.

CONFESSIONS OF A SERIAL KILLER: DIRECTOR’S CUT

After a grisly discovery in the trunk of his stolen car and subsequent arrest, Daniel Ray Hawkins begins confessing to a long list of murders that he and his sidekick Moon Lewton committed as they crisscrossed America’s interstates. Told in flashback, Hawkins recounts in disturbing detail the killings of over 200 women as he calmly talks with a wise old county sheriff who cannot believe what he’s hearing.

CONFESSIONS OF A SERIAL KILLER is the thinly veiled account of the chilling life and crimes of notorious serial killer Henry Lee Lucas and his side-kick Ottis Toole. CONFESSIONS was the first film about Henry Lee Lucas, completed in 1985. Independently produced in Austin, Texas, it was picked up for distribution by Roger Corman’s Concorde-New Horizons. Unfortunately, the film was shelved in the Concorde-New Horizons vault, unreleased in the U.S. until 1992. Through the years, despite multiple edited versions, CONFESSIONS developed a following in underground markets with illegal bootlegs. In 2016, the film rights reverted to its creator, allowing the film to finally be shown as it was originally intended.

Telluride Horror Show
The Telluride Horror Show, Colorado’s first and longest-running horror film festival, returns for its 8th edition October 13-15, 2017. Every year, the festival attracts the latest & best horror films from all over the world and attendees from all over the country for an intimate gathering of genre film fans in the world-famous mountain resort town of Telluride, Colorado.
