Jeff Howard is about to offer you a piece of the pie with a new short film, currently in pre-production, titled Slice of Heaven. Jeff’s name has become a recognizable staple in horror following films like Before I Wake and break-out hit Gerard’s Game, but most genre fans know him for penning 2013’s Oculus and 2016’s Ouija 2: Origin of Evil. Now, Mr. Howard is taking his talent to the realm of short films, and the first project marked on the slate is Slice of Heaven.
Written and produced by Jeff, Slice of Heaven follows a young couple on the run following a botched robbery and the fall out from the heist gone wrong. The cops are hot on the trail, however, something else is hunting them down, too. Whoever catches them first will determine their death or survival, and in this short film living might mean the nightmare never ends.
Slice of Heaven will be directed and executively produced by Johnnard Harper. Harper is taking Texas and the world of independent cinema by storm. His previous feature, Captured, just became available to rent or buy on Vimeo, and his most recent short film, Don’t Text Back, is nearing the end of post-production edits. Slice of Heaven is co-produced by Anthony Leone, Bruce Owdley, Kyle Lee and Sergio Leroy. Drew Shotwell, Denisha Hardeman and John Macaig have been announced as lead actors, though several minor roles are waiting to be filled.
This short film is scheduled to roll camera in March.
