(Trailer) DOLLY – by Ching Wang

A moody eight-year-old girl must combat the strange influence a mysterious doll has over her lonely, single father in order to save her little family of two…

A MFA thesis film from University of Texas at Austin, DOLLY is an honest, expressive, and humorous look at life in a single parent household mainly through the perspective of an 8-year-old daughter. A live-action short narrative film, DOLLY presents a close observation of a father-daughter relationship, and its significant changes when a third person is introduced in the picture. Straying away from conventional horror or comedy films, DOLLY composes stunning visuals and richly symbolic undertones that heighten the threatening intensity and inexplicable fragility of a relationship. DOLLY is currently on the festival circuit.
