‘Crazies’ Star Lane Carroll Releases Debut Novel, Bespelled.

Ah, the power of social media. It really is a great tool for spreading the word about something, and credit goes to scream queen Lynn Lowrey for allowing this news to come across my desk. You’re going to feel the love on this one, folks.

Lane Carroll officially released her debut novel on January 29, 2018 courtesy of Amazon Digital Services. Horror fans will instant recognize Lane for starring as Judy in George A. Romero’s 1973 cult classic – The Crazies. Lowrey also starred in The Crazies as Kathy, and I’m absolutely thrilled to see that these two women have maintained a friendship over 40 years later. But, let’s get back to the book.

Lane’s novel, titled Bespelled, is described as an urban fantasy that cleverly mixes magic with humor and suspense, as a young woman discovers her supernatural powers and the troubles and blessings they bring. Amazon’s synopsis of the book follows:

“Candy Jane Rawlings is unsophisticated, maybe a little naive, but not stupid. When her new boss loans her a quirky old computer, invested with the magical talent of a sorcerer, Candy’s latent, more-than-human powers, erupt. Bizarre things happen in Crystal Beach when an old computer magically enhances Candy Jane’s newspaper articles and draws a malevolent evil to the community where she lives. The computer is NOT evil, although it does display an anomalous sense of humor. When atrocities strike, Candy is forced to grow supernaturally and personally as she rides a wave of untamed magic toward success and malevolent evil.”

Join Candy on this mounting journey by purchasing Bespelled on Amazon Kindle for just $2.99.
