Aloha, Bobby and Rose Coming to Blu-ray on April 17, 2018

A SOUPED-UP ‘68 CAMARO AND A
SATURDAY NIGHT IN HOLLYWOOD SPARK THE 1975 LOVERS-ON-THE-RUN CULT FAVORITE THAT’S FINALLY MAKING ITS BLU-RAY DEBUT

Doppelgänger Releasing and Scorpion Releasing will issue on Blu-ray the affectionately remembered 1975 cult flick ALOHA, BOBBY AND ROSE, about two young L.A. people who meet and share the dream of ditching the seedy side of Hollywood for the easy life of Hawaii. But will a cherry red 1968 hot rod be enough to get them to paradise?

ALOHA, BOBBY AND ROSE makes its North American Blu-ray debut remastered with a high definition transfer via a brand-new HD scan of the original  (IP), along with extensive color correction.

Written and directed by Floyd  (The Hollywood Knights, American Hot Wax), ALOHA, BOBBY AND ROSE sets its sights on the good-looking titular twosome: Bobby (Paul le Mat, American Graffiti), who has a ‘68 Camaro and a dead-end job; and Rose (Dianne Hull, The Onion Field), who’s got a five-year-old son and a nowhere life. The two meet and quickly fall in love, which gives way to Rose’s fantasy of leaving the Hollywood streets behind and saying “aloha” to life in exotic Hawaii. But when a seemingly safe attempt to rob a liquor store to bankroll their journey goes tragically awry, Bobby and Rose find themselves on the run from the law…and for their lives. Barreling across nighttime L.A. in a bid to make it to the tropics, the young lovers learn that “aloha” can also mean “goodbye.”

Featuring a stunning Hollywood-after-dark sheen by legendary cinematographer William S. Fraker (Rosemary’s Baby, Heaven Can Wait), ALOHA, BOBBY AND ROSE co-stars such familiar faces as Robert  (Revenge of the Nerds), Tim McIntire (The Choirboys) and, in his first credited feature film role, Edward James Olmos (Stand and Deliver).

Doppelgänger Releasing and Scorpion Releasing will release ALOHA, BOBBY AND ROSE on Blu-ray for the first time in the United States on April 17, 2018 (prebook March 13, 2018). The Blu-ray, which includes new on-camera interviews with actors Paul Le Mat and Robert Carradine and writer/director Floyd Mutrux, carries the suggested retail price of $29.95.
