Mad Monster Film Fest Winners: “Strange Tales from Appalachia” and “Justice Served” impress the Charlotte Fans.

The Seventh Annual Mad Monster Film Festival wrapped with awards for the feature length Strange Tales from Appalachia and the short Justice Served by director Patrick Rhea.
Other winners included comedy Gut-Punched by Christopher G. Moore, horror For A Good Time, Call by director Izzy Lee and fantasy for Earworm from Strawhouse Pictures.
The Charlotte area fans crowded into the University Hilton for three days of films, panels and photo ops with guests such as Robert Englund famous for portraying Freddy Kruger in the A Nightmare on Elm Street series, as well as members of the cast of Aliens such as Lance Henricksen, Michael Biehn and Jenette Goldstein. The crowd reached capacity on Saturday as the fire marshal temporarily closed the doors.
The Monsters had to endure a power outage Sunday morning that blacked out several blocks of the downtown area in order to enjoy the event but remained undeterred.
Mutantville Productions hosts the film festival each year in conjunction with the Mad Monster Party and celebrated its seventh event with the premier of the new short science fiction film The Blind Eye Looks Within. Other films in the lineup included Prelude: A Love Story, Monkey Farm, Blood River, the Cameron Romero produced Zombies and the documentary Greetings from Tromaville.
