Margot Kidder, Black Christmas & Amityville Horror Actress, Has Passed Away.

No… Black Christmas is one of my top ten horror films, so I’m feeling this loss tremendously. Sources, including People and TMZ, are reporting that Canadian-born actress Margot Kidder passed away yesterday, Sunday, May 13th 2018. She is said to have passed in Montana, and no other details about her death are available as of this posting. She was 69-years-old.

Margot Kidder is most known to horror fans for her starring roles as Barb in Black Christmas (1974) and as Kathy Lutz in The Amityville Horror (1979). While both films have received remakes, Kidder’s original performances have withstood the test of time. Her other roles in the horror genre can be found in The Clown at Midnight, Death 4 Told, Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2 and The Reincarnation of Peter Proud.

Kidder is also known for playing Lois Lane in the first four Superman films from 1978 to 1987. In recent years, the mental health advocate made guest starring appearances in numerous television shows including “Brothers & Sisters,” “The L Word,” “Smallville” and “R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour.”

We lost a legend today, folks. All of us here at HorrorSociety.com send our condolences to her family, friends and fans.
