Here’s the new, three minute short film from Sotiris Petridis. Metaslash takes place on a Friday night, and viewers find a teenage boy home alone, scrolling through his social media pages. Little does he know, a serial killer is on the loose and using technology to help him in his quest for blood. Will the teenager survive? It’s my pleasure to introduce you to EmojiFace. And for what it’s worth, I hope this idea can be adapted into a feature somehow. Based on the screenplay by Sotiris Petridis,MetaSlash is directed and produced by Petridis and Dimitris Tsakaleas, and Pavlos Lygouris served as cinematographer with Tania Nanavraki as editor.
MetaSlash stars Nathan Baesal, Apostolos Kolitsas and Aggelos Georgiadis. Of course, horror buffs with instantly remember Baesal as the lead role, aspiring serial killer in Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon. Sotiris says about his short film, “Metaslash creates a self-referential tone by having a plethora of references to the cinematic horror. The viewing of the film can be interpreted as an interactive relationship with the audience. Within three minutes, the audience can find over 50 references to films such as Friday the 13th, Halloween, The Shinning, etc!”
