‘The Cull’ is A Disturbing Present in Disguise. Watch It Inside!

Luchagore Productions is back with another quality short film just in time for Christmas. Writer/Director Gigi Saul Guerrero, Producer/Production Designer Raynor Shima, Cinematographer Luke Bramley, and everyone else at the Vancouver-based studio really enjoy delivering holiday horror to their audience, whether it’s Halloween, Easter, and yes, Christmas. Their latest five minute short, The Cull, was filmed in less than 48 hours as part of the Blood N Guts/Run N Gun Film Race, where it won awards for Best Editing, Best Actor, Best Sound Design and Scariest Short. I mean, of course it did, Gigi is a boss.

The Cull follows a Mexican family with a dark secret who struggle to survive in divided America. A press release for the short film describes it as “The Purge” meets “We Are What We Are.” It stars Nevin Burkholder, Gabriel Carter, Marcio Moreno, Gabriela Reynoso and Edwin Perez. And, as always, it features film-making styles that could put Rob Zombie, Alexandra Aja, and Eli Roth to shame. Yeah, it’s that good, and yeah, it’s that bloody and disturbing. Watch The Cull on YouTube at the link below and make sure to be on the lookout for more original Luchagore media in 2019. Big things are on the way.
