The Highest Grossing Horror Films of 2018 (Domestic and Foreign Numbers)

Maybe due to ticket inflation, but the box office in The United States and around the world is far from dead. In 2018 alone, movie theaters generated over $11,921,900,000 in ticket sales in America. That’s the highest gross in a single year ever and 6.8% up from last year. And, better yet, after doing the math, horror films generated 12% of that total. In 2018, horror films in America made over $1,043,266,000 in ticket sales. That’s not even counting movies out of the top 100.

In this case, though, I’ve compiled the list of horror films that appear in the top 100 releases of the year based on sales. Followed by how much they made while in theaters in America. Followed by the horror films that appear in the top 100 releases of the year around the world. Check it out. See what movies surprised you. Discuss here or on social media. It was a great year for horror, folks.
