Former Teen Idol and Buffy the Vampire Slayer Star Luke Perry Has Passed Away

Earlier this morning, sources confirmed that teen idol turned iconic character archetype Luke Perry died following a massive stroke he suffered on February 27, 2019. He was 52-years-old at the time of his death on March 4, 2019, where he was surrounded by his family in Sherman Oaks, California. The late actor maintained a career in Hollywood for more than thirty years, and he was co-starring in the hit CW series “Riverdale” from 2016 – 2019.

Although Luke Perry is most known for playing Dylan McKay in “Beverly Hills 90210” and long-standing roles in “Jeremiah” and “OZ,” it should be noted that he held a number of iconic roles in horror and scifi films. The BuffyVerse will know him as Pike in the 1992 Buffy The Vampire Slayer movie, and Bruce Willis enthusiasts will recognize him as Billy in The Fifth Element. He also appeared in Descent, The Final Storm, Silent Venom, Supernova, The Triangle and Upstairs.

Hollywood is absolutely shocked and in mourning today, with many celebrities taking to social media to express their grief and sympathies.

R.I.P. Luke Perry. As a forever Buffy fan, you’ll always be “that guy” to me.
