Sources are reporting that actor Joseph Pilato has passed away. Details are scarce right now, but Bloody-Disgusting has a comment from a close family friend of Pilato’s, who confirms that he died, peacefully in his sleep at age 70. Pilato is most known for playing Captain Rhodes in George A. Romero’s Day of the Dead.
And he never left the genre. Joseph later starred in Effects, The Evil Inside Me, The Ghouls, The Black Box and Parasites. He also appeared in dozens of horror flicks including Dawn of the Dead, Alienator, Empire of the Dark, The Demonologist, Wishmaster, Visions, Bloodbath, Someone’s Knocking at the Door and The Chair.
His last credited role can be found in 2018’s Shhhh.
