The Escalator Pitch Podcast w/ John McNaughton

The Escalator Pitch Podcast – Episode 2 – Demon Daddy (ft. John McNaughton) is now available everywhere podcasts are consumed!

Stranger than an elevator pitch, but not a final product, it’s THE ESCALATOR PITCH Podcast! A weekly series hosted by JOHN BRENNAN (“The Last Drive-In w/ Joe Bob Briggs”, Troma Entertainment) and JOSH STIFTER (“Rebel Without a Crew”, Flush Studios). New episodes every Wednesday. https://theescalatorpitch.com/

In their second episode, John and Josh discuss Wes Craven and Bruce Wagner’s original draft for “A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors”. John interviews legendary film director John McNaughton (“Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer”) about his films – from “Wild Things” to an upcoming adaptation of “A Good Man is Hard to Find” – as well as his involvement in an unproduced “A Nightmare on Elm Street” prequel at New Line Cinema. Josh pitches his own ideas for a new Elm Street installment and John pitches an original idea called “Demon Daddy”. Also, audience pitches!

SEGMENT ONE- John & Josh talk about the idiocy of space time. Then, it’s a full-blown discussion about Wes Craven and Bruce Wagner’s original draft for “A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors”. John and Josh compare and contrast this much harsher screenplay to the finished film. Does your asshole belong to Freddy?

SEGMENT TWO (starts at 46:04) – Special guest JOHN McNAUGHTON (“Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer”) joins John for an enlightening interview. Mr. McNaughton spills the beans about how Kevin Bacon’s penis made it into “Wild Things”. He shares information about his involvement in a prequel to “A Nightmare on Elm Street” at New Line Cinema, and discusses his upcoming project, an adaptation of Flannery O’Connor’s “A Good Man is Hard to Find” starring Michael Rooker.

SEGMENT THREE (starts at 1:11:34) – Josh pitches his ideas for the next installments of “A Nightmare on Elm Street”. John pitches an original idea called “Demon Daddy”. They also read audience pitches and John shares a memorable movie theater memory with Quintin Tarantino. They end the show with an original song by Schlong Carpenter: “Theme from Demon Daddy”!
