I'm pleased to announce that our film HI-8: Horror Independent Eight will be re-released on
DVD on April 14, 2020 by Wild Eye Releasing.
Originally intended as a 'just for fun' project for a group of indie veterans to get back to their
roots, Hi-8 became one of the most well-reviewed indie horror films of 2014, garnering press in
Fangoria, Rue Morgue, HorrorHound and many others, playing at nearly 20 fests around the
world and winding up on many genre critics' "Best of the Year" lists.
The movie includes shorts from a 'Who's Who' of SOV Horror including Tim Ritter (TRUTH
OR DARE?: A CRITICAL MADNESS), Todd Sheets (CLOWNADO), Brad Sykes (CAMP
BLOOD), Donald Farmer (SAVAGE VENGEANCE), Marcus Koch (100 TEARS), and Ron
Bonk (SHE KILLS).
Aside from sporting snazzy new artwork, this new 'Raw and Extreme' DVD of Hi-8 will be
released for the first time in the original 4:3 aspect ratio in which the analog shorts were shot. All
special features from the 2014 DVD, including commentary and making-of featurettes, will also
be included in this release.
Since Hi-8's release, Nightfall Pictures has gone to produce a sequel, HI-DEATH (released last
year through Wild Eye) and is currently in production on the third and final film in the series,
HI-FEAR, which will be completed this summer.
