Roastmasterpiece Theatre Presents: The Cult of Frankenstein (Crowd Funding)

From the Kickstarter page:

“Roastmasterpiece Theatre” is a new movie-riffing show inspired by Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Rifftrax…but we will riff on horror and exploitation movies that we create ourselves!

“Roastmasterpiece Theatre” is a spin-off show from “Tromasterpiece Theatre”, and will retain the same puppet characters, set, and riffing style, but we will be using movies from other companies instead of just strictly Troma. (Troma is not involved in the production of this show.)

SYNOPSIS:

Unsatisfied with his job, movie theater usher Addison Binek slacks off at work and watches cheesy horror movies with Corny, a talking box of popcorn, and Reelie, a talking reel of film.

“The Cult of Frankenstein” will be about a hippie cult of Charles Manson-like followers who dress in matching white robes, wear matching Frankenstein masks, read passages from Mary Shelley’s original Frankenstein novel as if it was scripture from the Bible, and they resurrect the Frankenstein monster so that it goes on a bloody rampage.

“The Cult of Frankenstein” film itself will be heavily influenced by cult horror films such as The Wicker Man, while also bearing resemblance to down and dirty drive-in movies by Al Adamson.

We will watch Addison, Corny, and Reelie go through the casting process, shooting the film, editing it, and finally watching/riffing on their own finished project.

You will see the silhouettes of Corny, Reelie and Addison at the bottom of the screen watching the low-budget movie they made themselves and they will nit-pick the acting, editing and gore effects, etc.

Not necessarily just a movie riffing show anymore, but a movie *making* show too…and the characters will poke fun at their own amateurish results.

Sort of like MST3K meets Clerks!
