Full Sail Real World Education is proud to announce that instructor, Jose Casella, was recently awarded “Best Florida Horror Film” at the 2006 Screamfest Horror Convention for his film, Delivery. Matt Nelson, also an instructor, took home an additional prize for Delivery winning “Best Actor.”

The Convention was held in October at the Wyndham Orlando Resort. Cassella served as director and many other Full Sail instructors took part, as well as nearly 100 Full Sail students including film student, Kelly Moore, who edited Delivery in its entirety. Delivery was shot on a low budget with only two months of production. Cassella describes the piece as a suspenseful horror movie about a “gentle loner with a traumatic past, trying to put his life back together while working as a [pizza delivery boy. However, a series of events test his sanity and unleash a murderous rampage.”

The film received a lot of attention from vendors such as Blockbuster, Netflix, and Movie Stop, who have each offered their promotional support, and Polychrome Pictures, a division of Warner Home Video, has picked up the film for release next February. Cassella finished his Film education at Full Sail in 1990. After graduation, he worked with a large variety of independent films, music videos and commercials.

In addition, Cassella is the co-founder of KSFilms, an independent film company responsible for the Full Sail-made film Wish, which also won a Film Slam competition at the downtown Orlando dMac. “The cast consists of up-and-coming actors but our main lead Matt Nelson, is actually a professional assistant director who looked the part perfectly,” said Casella. “We also crewed Delivery with our Full Sail faculty and students and I could not be more proud of the work we did together.
