There is about 58 reasons why Japanese and Asian Horror is better than most American horror movies coming out now. Even some of the older series that are considered classics like TCM and Nightmare on Elm Street seem to have been beaten, at least in my mind, by some of the gore and suspense coming out of the Far Eastern World of Cinema.
J-Horror has been putting gore and creepy ghosts and skinny scary children on the film making map for a while now. With some of the J-Horror staple movies like Ringu and Ju-On, Asian Horror has a stronghold on the creepy suspenseful edge of movies.
But you can not forget about the gore coming from them either. A lot of movies that have been and still are being made from the Japanese rival most of the American slashers in terms of blood and gore on the big screen.
Take for example a couple of flicks that Ive seen over this past weekend….
Guinea Pig: Flowers of Flesh and Blood (1985, Hideshi Hino)
Now this one has got the blood and gore that most horror freaks really want to see. Nothing more than torutre and chopping up a girl on a table. Good thing is you get to see every aspect and every cut made to the girl. Very nice special effects and shots in this classic flick.

Crawling Bugs (Atsushi Kaneko, 2005)
Creepy, strange, beutiful, and down right wierd at points. This is a great flick that really showcases the original ideas coming from the J-Horror filmmakers. Is J-Horror dead…nah, its just taking a break!!
